    Suzannah is passionate about using outreach and management to strengthen idea and venture phase businesses and connect the right people in order to give initiatives more impact. She is quite good at making connections, and sees that as a highlight of her work. Suzannah is a true connector with expertise in project management, internal program development, events, and strategies for outreach including digital communications and volunteer coordination.


    Suzannah's specialities also include pitch review for ppt presentations, as well as being a consultant for entrepreneurs and startups on how to take their ideas or new businesses to the next level while also helping connect them with angel investors and venture capitalists. For artists' and entrepreneurs' business development, she works on finder's fee or % based model for successful contracts and/or performances. In her spare time, Suzannah helps organize and host local community events that support entrepreneurs and self-starters.

    Full cycle program management. Recruit startups, investors, volunteers, and manage education events, pitch forums, investor meetings, and the annual screening day and showcase.


    Angel Venture Forum (AVF) is​ an ad hoc group of active angel investors in the Mid-Atlantic region. AVF specializes in bringing capital to start-ups and in return to investors and their communities of support.

    Cogent Law Group (fka Paxton Law Group)

    PLG is comprised of a very interesting, highly-skilled network of attorneys some of whom are also entrepreneurs with MBA and patent expertise. PLG believes in a lean, agile approach to the legal business in order to deliver top-tier legal expertise to boostrapped startups and entrepreneurs. Evan Smith, Tom Goldstein, Andrew Hirsch and Geoff Mason are PLG attorneys that have started their own businesses.

    Williamson District aims to improve health education through local, national, and international outreach. Suzannah works with Williamson District to optimize their audience, social media, and business strategies.

    Analyst for the ACT Program Oct 2014 - Dec 2015

    The ACT Program is the Acceleration for the Commercialization of Technology. Suzannah collaborates as an analyst on this tech transfer initiative with Valerie Gaydos in conjunction with the MD Center for Entrepreneurship (MCE). ACT is a partnership between local research institutions and MCE in Howard County. The first MOU was signed with the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) and others include Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center (ECBC), USDA, and NSA.     Mentor Capital Network (fka William James Foundation)

    Outreach, Operations, & Communications Coordinator

    Mentor Capital Network "MCN" is an organization committed to strengthening the global social enterprise community through meaningful mentorship. Suzannah's work with MCN involved working with social entrepreneurs, mentors, and impact investors to accelerate double bottom line and triple bottom line initiatives. She organized the full life cycle of events and conferences while helping to manage programs.

    Co-Organizer & Host Nov 2012 - Present

    The District's Community of self-starters working on interesting projects. Suzannah organizes and hosts this group at 1776 in DC every 3rd Monday of the month.

    Advisor, Manager of Entrepreneurial Centered Design

    22 Capital Partners is a global private equity company investing in real estate, technology, and clean & renewable energy. Suzannah advises them on their Gramercy District project (http://www.gramercydistrict.com) with respect to startups and entrepreneurs in the DMV area. Gramercy District is a smart city which will be in Ashburn, VA and is slated to include an incubator for startups to test their technology in the city.

    Chapter Steering Committee Member - June 2008 - Present

    Suzannah is a committee member in charge of events, social media, and outreach. The Steering Committee helps other St. John's College DC-area alumni with networking, job searches, navigating daily life in DC, and continuing the Great Books' conversations.


    A-Level Capital is legally and practically a traditional venture capital firm, but decisions to invest the fund's money are solely made by John’s Hopkins University students. All investments are in startups created or operated by JHU students or alumni.

    Coordinator & Moderator Sept.2013 - Present

    Media Rise is a weeklong series of events in D.C. that celebrates how storytelling, design, art and media can contribute to a peaceful, just, and sustainable world. Suzannah screens applicants, coordinates judges and the event, scouts locations, markets the event, performs administrative duties, hosts volunteer meetings and co-moderates during Pitch Night. Pitch night supports entrepreneurs dedicated to advancing positive social change through media.

  • The Act Program

    The Acceleration for the Commercialization of Technology (ACT) was created in connection with the Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship (MCE). Established relationships have been fostered with Federal Labs and Universities, many of which have unique technologies available for licensing.


    Relationships include institutions such as John's Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab (APL), Edgewood Chemical Biological Center (ECBC), National Security Agency (NSA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and National Institutes of Health (NIH).


    Startups looking to further develop technology for their start-up or enhance/advance their existing technology.
